I received such Strong SRT Digibox from Rimants (many thanks for that) and I was wondering what exactly is the use of those boxes .
The only purpose is to control a Diseqc 1.2 H2H rotor at a receiver or TV without disecq 1.2 motor control .
Programming (60 ch) can be done by the remote that has one button (Go to X) more than the Strong / Moteck V-Box remote .
Except for the Go to X command , the Digibox can also be controlled with the V-Box remote .
If there is no receiver connected , the motor runs at the 12 V power provided by the box himself .
Connected to a receiver or TV , the speed is depending of the TP polarity (13 or 18 V)
For that test I used a old Maxplus 2100 and noticed that if motorcontrol in that receiver is set to Usals , the Digibox will not react correct , 1.2 or OFF , no problem .
Pressing STORE +00+ENTER is turning to ZERO .
With GoTo X it should be possible by pressing Goto X + E (or W) for example +192 = 19.2 E . (if the rotor is provided with GotoX)
But since there is no option to store your Lat and Lon you can't set regulair sat positions and have to look to the calculations at Dishpointer .

I was hoping the display was also showing the value of pulses , so I could use it to build a more a advanced Usals positioner .
Unfortunality only program numbers .
I'm still happy with it because ist very usefull for controlling Disecq LNB revolvers .

Does it respond to DiSEqC 1.0 commands from the receiver for positions 1 to 4?

I think you have covered everything.

It was/is a converter for machinery that doesn't do more than the DiSEqC 1.0 command structure.

There was a polar geared motor, branded Humax that could be connected directly to a DiSEqC 1.0 receiver (Strong/Samsung Electrics brought out the SRT4000/4300 machines shortly before updated specifications were released) and these gave owners a single cable motorised system, albeit limited to one side of the arc only.

I did not checked that because I thougt its not build to receive diseqc commands bus just send .
However I noticed it was possible to control it with the E / W command in the Maxplus motor menu .
Maybe the commands are just going through the Digibox even its not powered .
I will look into it tomorrow

if motorcontrol in that receiver is set to Usals , the Digibox will not react correct
Can you elaborate on this:
Does it NOT react to a command given by USALS at all, so that the motor does not move?
Or does it react in some way (how?), but not correctly?

As you write that the box is 'transparant' for MoveEast/West command from the receiver (and also to diseqc 1.2 GotoNn commands, if I understand you correctly), it is a bit strange that it would not be transparant to GotoX commands from the receiver (calculated by USALS).

Might there be an issue here about the two different kinds of raw GotoX commands? (Which you helped investigate, USALS/ GotoX; Raw diseqc commands )
Have you checked that the motor does in fact react correctly to the USALS-GotoX command from the Maxplus, without the Digibox inbetween?

It does react by the Usals commands of the Maxplus and motor moves correct , but I thought there were unreliable reactions at commands given at the Digibox , just moving 2 º
But that was caused by pressing OK at the GoTo button in the motor menu of the Maxplus , by leaving that menu the motor completed the command , at Usals and 1.2

I did not go so deep into that .

Motor strait to the Maxplus is working correct .

With the unpowered Digibox there is no movement .
Unlike the V-Boxes and the circuitboards of diseqc motors , the Digibox has no direct connection between the inner pins of the receiver/motor F connectors .
Just a small condensator for letting pass the diseqc commands and the signal .

I tried random commands stored in the Digibox and commands send by the Maxplus , seen that its possible to use them both .
So I think its possible to use the Digibox and a V-Box inline and have the possibility to store 60 extra sat positions

@ OZUMO , no reaction with active 1.0 A/B/C/D

Looking a tthe box decoration in more detail, it mentions Goto-X but also that the unit is functional on DiSEqC 1.2 specification motors only.

Isn't Goto-X a 1.3 standard ?

If 1.3 meaning Usals , no thats not possible because there is no option to set your LON and LAN

So why is it included on the labelling unless it means something different ?

Does the manual mention the protocol that is designed into the hardware ?

(If you can take the lid off there might be a programming number on the chipset I could cross reference)

GotoX is not "the same" as USALS.

GotoX is just the command 'Goto angular position of X degrees left or right from zero, on the motor axis'.

USALS is a little 'computer program' that calculates the GotoX angle, given your LAT and LON. So that the proper GotoX command can be sent.

So GotoX is the name of the command, and USALS is the name of the computer program.
So that the digibox supports GotoX, would likely mean that you can enter the proper angle, and the command is sent.
But as the names of GotoX and USALS are often used together, some people think they mean the same.

It is not very difficult to calculate the proper GotoX angle.
I'm not sure (never tested) if 'normal' USALS calculation includes 'modified axis elevation' instead of 'traditional axis elevation' (I think not!), and if it uses proper rounding rules for the angle (they might truncate?). But the differences would not be great, if I recall correctly.

Edit:
So I think its possible to use the Digibox and a V-Box inline and have the possibility to store 60 extra sat positions
Wow! :)
But there must not be a conflict in the GotoNn- numbers, I guess? I cannot quite visualize how you would do this.

So the digibox is indeed transparant to the all the motor commands, including USALS commands from the Maxplus?
Then my remarks about that were irrelevant.
