talksport - anyone got this radio channel working?

if so, please tell me how! i've scanned numerous times, deleted the channel, rescanned and although talksport is there in the listings and the epg is working, there is no sound! all other radio stations work properly.

Might be an idea to tell us what receiver you have, i.e Fortec Passion+, as I know of at least one member I think has one of those.

Now I understand there is no link to an HD section for this receiver.

Same as the vanilla Fortecstar Passion (which I have) regarding channel scanning, menus etc. I don't get audio either on Talksport on mine.. No idea why, OK on other radio channels on 2D, although I haven't checked all of them.

LLew, that's a relief, been waiting to hear from a passion+ owner about this... i have an old sky box and talksport works on that... don't know what the problem is as other radio stations are fine.

I think the Passion is a little fussy with low bit-rate radio channels. Talksport and a check of a couple of other channels using 64Kb bit-rates (Caroline, Rainbow) are similarly afflicted.

Possibly a hardware issue on the Passion.

I've contacted fortec star about this and especially mentioned 'Talksport'. I hope they look into it either as a hardware or software issue

As Llew has already mentioned the Passion has always struggled with 64K radio stations. I can get these to work on my Passion but sometimes they take a bit of time to kick into life - 30 secs or more. It might be worth turning 'Radio Screen' to Off in 'Other Settings' then leave it on talkSPORT for a while to see if it kicks into life.

Something else to try is do an advanced scan but fool it into thinking it's looking for a TV channel rather than a radio channel. To do this enter a Video PID value of 1 and set the Audio and PCR PID values to 3355 (all other to Auto). The scan will produce a TV channel called 'UserTV 1' and when you select it will eventually come up with a 'No Video & Audio' message but you should still hear the sound.

Interesting, Ratchet. There's often a way round these problems, will try your second option.

Another observation I've noticed, don't leave the channel list on screen but fully select the channel so that the list disappears or key in the channel number directly.

mmm, interesting, I have not got a passion, but a tm680 but instead just edited the TV channel labelled G54, setting the Apid to 3355, that may work on the passion as well.

Tried that Ratchet, still blank audio. Maybe juclarie will have better luck. Not really concerned myself, rarely use the box for radio.

Tried with that channel Robbo, still have G54 as the ITV 3 channel video/audio (unless I've lost the newly scanned channel somewhere in the channel menu 2 )

Yes, I had the ITV3 video but with talksport audio,great idea, gives one something to look at while listening.
