i agree d122k7trb i am a heavy rocker too, for me when someone says rock, i dont include bands like Fleetwood mac or The Beatles.... they are pop bands.
not that im trying to undermine this poll it just depends on your music taste. if you are used to listening to Britney spears then someone like Queen or U2 will sound Like Thrash metal lol

For the record, i was stuck between GnR and Maiden .....

Pink Floyd, Fleetwood mac, Rush and .... are punk rock groups and they are not included in metal + groups. If you've even seen the VH1 channel, you can never find any (rarely) punk rock goup beside the others. I mean the real metal and heavy metal ones.

LOL, no they're not Arbi, they were around before Punk became a movement in the 70s.

Dear all,

I'v to say that

Pink floyd, fleetwood Mac, Jetro Tull, Jeff Beck, Santana, what, what, what, are progressive rock/ blues bands. Which I don't like them & don't bother myself to buy any CD or DVD of those groups. In my music world whatever counts is pure rock and heavy metal, like what I informed you above.

Horses for courses Arbi, we all have different tastes, mine are considerable wider than yours and take in pretty much all types of band and music, but at the end of the day, the poll is about rock bands generally, so pulls in all of the sub catagories.

I don know what the hell do ya think, but for me the rock, rock'n'roll, metal, heavy metal and so on are completely different from what you've in your mind. those bands have died in mid '90s. For instance, right now writing this mail, I'm listenning to Ronnie James Dio.

Dokken's 80s are more, more interesting than its 90s ones. Recently The Donnas, The Darkness and a few ones have done their best to sell more, but the 80s and early 90s.

Also in Pop generation is the same 70s and 80s music is more rythmic and interesting than the "ghempes ghempes" of 2days bands. We call it
"Dumbooly Kossak" which means "A music to Roll your ass or hip"
