In fact I shall be physically removing my Ka LNBs not just disconnecting..

Painful indeed to have your prize set top box destroyed by storms...see Kveys for details.
I have given the F15 he sent me damaged by lightning discharge a degree of investigation and not even a direct hit ..
Tuner damaged but repairable ..
2 dead main board regulators ...and associated surface mount transistors..
dead hdmi port buffer IC..
worst of all ...damaged I/O ports on the BGA cpu..
Sadly no parts available (as expected) ..and no schematic available (as expected)
This box is/was fixable at component level ..but no schematic and no parts available means it will only ever be useful for spares..

Its been nudging 30C in direct sunlight here today. Absolutely glorious sitting in the sun enjoying a beer with my lunch, and wandering the hills this afternoon.

Same here G ..wind getting up a bit and now overcast ..
Couple of hours of sun ..and it's all over.
Looks like the storms could arrive earlier than predicted.

Blue skies and sunny all round here, infact it's made it too hot to work in my shed on my new Briggs & Stratton Intek 5.5hp engine (I say new, it's a right mess, but it's got compression, and runs apparently, so, it's repairable!!), dunno what all the fuss is about storms, it's only set to be a bit rainy here tomorrow with a possibility of thunder, must be that southern exaggeration again...

Aaah 2 storms off the cornwall coast in the last 20 minutes.

Ground contact lightning now in Shropshire and Worcestershire mainly,growing all the time.
