The illegal streaming site "Flawless TV" got busted & now the investigators have the records of all their subscribers.

OK chances are no action will be taken against private viewers but the FA may decide to make an example of a few people. Anyone running a commercial business who has used these is certainly heading for a date in court though.

I’d say there’s a few that might be sweating with this news. Amazes me why people who hide behind a VPN think that somehow they are safe just because the VPN provider says so. Dream on. They’re dying to make an example of just one person and are willing to spend a fortune doing so.

Regarding the 3pm black-out, the Premier League can pick and choose weekends that are exempt from the black-out. For example this Saturday's FA Cup Final is a 3pm kick off so they very much make the rules up as they go along.

The only black-out I can think of straight off the top of my head outside of the UK is in the states where for example if you want to watch a New York Yankees game in New York you will not be able to watch it if it was shown on the Major League Baseball Network channel because it is also being shown on YES Network. All the Yankee games are shown on YES Network but it is only available to watch in the New York area.

The 3pm blackout is to protect 3pm fixtures in all of the leagues and maintain attendances, how well it works I'm not convinced.

There's a blackout of live television coverage of the Indy 500 in the Indianapolis area to encourage ticket sales. Seem to also remember in the NFL there would be a blackout of local TV coverage unless a threshold of ticket sales was met but I don't know if this is still the policy.

Indy 500 = ("sort of") ultimate "roundy, roundy" racing - watched a few minutes on Sky F1 on Sunday and then switched off - no way would I have paid to attend that, or even via any sort of special "electronic ticket"!

They arrested him in 2018 and 2021, they have had all the info they wanted if they were prosecuting any of his customers.
This was a private prosecution by the PL, expect sentence to be halved.

That’s a classic example of the seedy underbelly of the criminal fraternity. Heaven knows what other “bolt on” acquisitions are involved. This is only the tip of the iceberg. Of course they wouldn’t be sitting on such a large cash pile if they didn’t have a willing customer base to fund them. Their tentacles are spread far and wide too. Thankfully their nefarious activities are not promoted here. The same cannot be said about other forums though.

It always surprises me how much people advertise these things out in the open. Most of them seem to get caught either that way or just by tax evasion like a lot of crime.

Isn't that the circuit Nigel Mansell preferred?

It’s spun like it’s a victimless crime. Well if I paid a small fortune for the rights to broadcast an event and certain individuals decide to dip their hands in my pocket and help themselves does that qualify as victimless. That’s all before you consider where their ill gotten gains are being funnelled to.

That's true, though I have seen a lot of comments saying that the sentences are harsher than those who have committed enormous corporate fraud or even violent crimes like child abuse. Don't mess with the FA.

While I totally agree with what's been said, FA are hardly angels themselves. Corruption is rife at the core of the Association.

Iptv no different to those who have used a certain server on their stb that was built in when they purchased it, as a certainty person on here knows as he was also using it on his M4 before it got switched off the first time.

I know I'm in a minority but I wouldn't even "bother" the FA because I/we don't watch "football" in any of its formats, and I just can't understand why other people do - and then actually pay (in one way or another!) to do that !

Unfortunately, corruption in various forms is rife in many sports - and soccer is most certainly one of those.

I'm sure they know who they are after all they were helped via DM on SU to set it up. No need to name names. Can't see why other users would need it elaborated on if it doesn't concern them.

It certainly does. This forum prides itself on not promoting piracy in any shape, form or fashion. I’m sure the moderators would be appalled to hear that the forum was being used as a vehicle to facilitate same. Unlike the blatant promotion of same on other forums which I imagine may find themselves in the slippery brown stuff before too long along with certain contributors.

The FA have been mentioned here on a number of occasions but certainly short term it’s not them who loose out. They get paid by the rights purchaser. It’s the rights purchaser who are gunning for the pirates. Eventually the rights purchaser will no longer wish to purchase a product that is compromised. That’s when the FA will step in.

The EPL is no longer a mucky day out in January for the ale swilling football hooligan. Way too much invested now to allow the criminal class to hijack it for their own gain.
