The SM6900 has a sat list of around 15 sats located between 30W and 32E all accessible by the 'SAT' button on the remote.

Press the 'Menu' button followed by 'Satellite Setup' so the Sat menu appears. Highlighted across the top is an exhaustive list of sats which can be scanned either blind or automatically.

But how do I get any of these sats saved on to the menu list described in the first para so I can actually view the channels at will?

Menu > satellite set up > highlight satellite > yellow to (save)

Once allocated to list, drive to position under usals (goto) and scan or blind scan search.

Above for 5000 series, same as 6900 I believe :)

Yes SMM, it is the same on the TM6800, go into Motorized Setting to drive the dish to the new position, and then scan.

So where am I going wrong with this?

Menu - Installation - Sat Set up - OK - Highlight Choice - Yellow - Exit - Exit - Exit

SAT button = No change.

Hi Muddywellies

For DiSEqC mounts you need to save your chosen sat as explained above, then go back to motor menu and manually move dish to chosen sat, fine tune position East or West then save.

If you cant find it try a different transponder then try again

after you have saved your sats position scan for channels then save after 100% then that sat will be available on the sat button.

Yes, it won't work until some channels have been scanned in.

You need to drive the dish to sat position and then scan. Once complete, it will be listed :)
