Now early in the morning 2A signal is almost 2db better. 12123H is 9.3-9.4 db SoloSE, little pixelation.

The old Turksat 2A is already inclined over 0.3°, enough for signal variations with big dishes!

New reception of TRT 4k @ 42E (12123 Hor) with clear sky. Lower SNR during early morning hours.

According TLE of 2 September, Turksat 2A (inclined 0.6°) is drifting West 2.4° per day.
This probably means end-of-life. 2A was launched in 2001, then named Eurasiasat 1.

Anyone received non-West beams from 42E in UK? There are too many to go through but I did manage to lock 12015H 27500, though picture is stuttering on the F15 and breaking up on Solo2 (no difference in reception between the two). This is on the 4A Turkey beam:

@nelson_b - do you still have the Alcoa pointed at 42e?

Nice one :)

No ... moved the Alcoa to 26 e some time ago ....

that is the transponder i would like to receive too ... maybe something has changed ? ... i,v tried for it in the past since those channels moved to Turkish beam and got nothing ... even with 2.4 c.m. will try again this afternoon ... that transponder carries Radyo Exen ... a very good, non mainstream rock radio station.

No lock on this one @nelson_b - steady 5.7dB, some way off due to DVB-S2/8PSK.

12015H has gone up in strength to 6dB today so no breakups.

Cheers --- The footprint /signal clearly weakens a great deal from south to north u.k.

Something has changed though since i tried for 12015H a month or more ago, as i could see no signals at all from the Turk beam ... but i was getting weak signals from some transponders on 4A east beam... it seems the reverse is the case for me here now? ... as i dont get even a flicker from 4A

Using the 2.4 i,m getting 8.0 db- locked on 11096 H 30000 from beam 3A east --
how does that compare with you ?

Try 12015H again - it's 6.4dB now. 12245H is 6.2dB but no lock...

11096H is nowhere near a lock.. flickering up to around 2dB.

Can see a little difference on 12015H maybe reaching 3.db max but 12245H is hitting 4.db now
this is with the 2.4 c.m. mind you ....

Must try 11096H on the 1.8 out of interest, at some point...
currently playing with a K/A l.n.b that Evan lent me, on that dish.

Have you tried to adjust polarisation? Something like very strong 12009V causes problems, if angle is even slighly wrong.

Thank you - ocean04 - i,v just been and moved the l.n.b. by a very small fraction and it locked briefly just long enough to scan the channels in :) ... the sky has clouded slightly and i,v lost it again now .... i remember now that using the 1.8 on previous old/east beams - l.n.b skew was critical
thanks again ..:) ... i may also try a different l.n.b. for this frequency ... some perform better than others at certain frequencies .

Things improved around 9.30 in the evening here .. not only locked 12015 H 27500 but reached 6.4 d.b. between then and midnight on 2.4 c.m. :) tv 42 e.jpg radio 42 e.jpg
only around 2 db this morning though under cloud .

Tried for 11096H on the 1.8 last night .. only the slightest flicker of signal..

Nice one. It's quite a feat getting a tightly aimed beam at Turkey in the north of England!

Making my way up to Manchester now...in-laws 90th birthday celebrations
