Don't know if anyone else has seen these before, but I haven't:
5 x F MALE to F MALE STRAIGHT COUPLER ADAPTER JOINER Coax TV connector

I was looking for something to couple the Male connectors on some Smart Priority Switches to line amps, and came across them - very well made and work well (bought 10x in the end), except that the body is shiny S/S. That means it is difficult to prevent it swivelling when you tighten a coupling nut, and that can cause an already tightened nut at the other end to loosen. Would have been better if the body had had a serrated finish so you can grip it securely with pliers.

Just a thought - might also help on the rear panel of a sat Rx (etc.) if all the connectors are close together and that makes it difficult to tighten the F-connector nuts on the incoming cables . Using these you could fit them first and then space some of the actual cables a little further away from the panel so as to be more accessible.

Very useful if you need something like this, or even to just keep a few in the tool box "just in case".

You would the need an additional female 'barrel' connector, and the associated compound losses of the multiple connections.

I have got a couple in the component box but I cant recall how I got them in the first place.

I vaguely recall them being mentioned on the Forum a long time ago, but have never seen one in the flesh, so to speak.

As you say, unusual - but these days you can get virtually any connector in all sorts of configurations: I have a natty little thing that converts a standard stereo earphone jack to twin RCA by virtue of a moulding with a jack socket at one end and a pair of RCA sockets at t'other.

This is how I am using them
upload_2016-10-6_15-56-6.png

This box, and the SPS, Line Amps and couplers, is between the dish group at the end of the garden and the house, and the 4x SPS have 2 sets of outputs - the Main O/Ps go to the Lounge and the Slave O/Ps go to our upstairs office (ex bedroom!) where the receivers are at the moment, so that I can "fiddle" to my heart's content whilst SWMBO watches the Skybox! And I am well aware of the losses issues - just hoping that the amps will compensate for some of those without adding too much noise to the signals (one line has no amp at present just to see how it compares)

I used them once to test the a lnb for Hotbird together with a canaldigitaal TRIPLE LNB (with internal switch) for receivers without diseqc 1.1
Just used a committed switch and a modded splitter . diseqc combi test.jpg

Yes, for a short connection between two metal cased devices in a tightly packed area they make sense. Usually I would make a 20cm cable with two standard connectors and 'loop' in a 360 between them.

I use them, or the push on equivalent when stacking multiswitches in systems.

El distribuidor de material para satelite Rover en España si los tiene con el cuerpo estriado.
The satellite equipment distributor for Rover in Spain if you have the striatum.

Como veo muchas dobles hembras en la instalacion (12), este mismo distribuidor tiene las "normales" y tambien unas de bajas perdidas, algo mas caras.
As I see many double females in the installation (12), the same dealer has "normal" and also a low loss, something more expensive.

Thanks for all the examples of where this sort of coupler is actually used, and to Tururu for giving an example of the serrated-body version I would prefer to have had - does anyone have any idea where that version can be obtained in the UK?

Hi BM

I acquired one of those when the motor was replaced and Julian at VuPlus UK forgot to remove it before I left - very useful.

I think I can use that in the near future when figuring out which of the 4 sat cables now coming into our office is connected to which dish as only 2 of them are actually connected to one of the fixed and steerable non-sky dishes and the other 2 are connected to the 60cm dish that I used to use for Sky (will probably use that with the existing 10-way diseqc switch for 28E/19E/13E which are strong here and for which the Gemini 90cm is currently set up).

Are they easily available so I can grab a few more?
