Upgrading The Satlink WS6906 or other Satlink series

I'm having no luck in getting the Satlink to connect to my pc to updrade it. I have a usb to rs232 cable,windows says i have the latest COM1 driver installed, there are a multitude of settings for COM1 like baud rate, parity etc. Has anyone managed to upgrade their Satlink successfully and if so how and what are your settings.

Sorted- it upgrades the meter on switching it on with the upgrade software checking the com port---Bingo!

let me know if you are useing a laptop or normal pc , because i only have laptop and it does not have any RS232 , it is only USB
