Hi guys,

I am trying to sort my dish setup out ready for the footy. And i cant get any signal past 19.2E due to what i think is the wall.

Basically, i have attached a few pictures below, but I want to try clear the wall and get more eastern satellites.

Wall Height - 2.6M
Satellite Dish Distance from the wall - 2.45M

I have attached some pics. I can make the dish higher, or relocate it. But what i need to know is, is the wall my issue?

Pictures below.

I must add that in the pictures its at 1W and gets like 90%!

And 7W showtime sports cleared perfect all last season... so it can clear the wall where it currently is

i swear i didnt put it in this section lol

I would say the problem is the tree behind the wall :confused

Its either that or its the wife sleeping underneath it :-lmao

You will already know that the further away from the southern most sat you go the lower in the sky each sat gets. I would say that you are hitting the tree after 19.2e

Don't think the wall is the problem, more like the tree/bush.

Bottom of dish at lower wall height should do it.

You need planning permission for any dish over 1m that is permenantly fixed. You could move the dish back as far away from the wall as possible or alternatively use another dish for the sats past 19.2e.

With the exception of the German Beam on 23.5e you should get most the others with your 60cm.

im after 26E mate, see my abu dhabi sports thread in this forum section, people are getting it on a 1.8m.

I will speak to my neighbour hes quite young and doesnt really care, i could do away with my shed and put it right back away from the wall, aslong as he doesnt mind. Then I could go higher up.

other then that no one else will really see it :)

you have a cm 1.2 there in the background, make use of this with the polar mount which is being used on the 1.8 and buy the proper fixed mount for the 1.8 to use on 26e ?

whats behind the wall where the bush is ? cant you just trim some off it and make out it was growing over the wall ?

i have a dish on the wall for other satellites (out of view). The 1.2 has been sat there for the past year.

I only want the footy on the big dish so 26E or 7W, other then that i get it all on the 60cm that i need

i know, its alot of work so i hope so to because i will need to, re mount the dish, make it higher up, concrete in a new pole, and possibly try force the council to trim the tree/bush down!

I really hope its worth it, as if i pull no signal il be very anoyed!!

Diesel oil has a tendency to make trees die, the same can be said for copper nails in the roots :-idea

For an offset dish it is really easy to work out if something in front is an obstacle. Signal arriving right at the bottom of the dish grazes the top of the LNB. So all you need to do is crouch down behind the dish, look up from just below the rim of the dish. From that position if you can see any obstacle above the LNB then the dish is being shadowed.

Going by what you have said here, the attached picture is at 13E

it is JUST clearing the wall! but the wall gets higher... so are you sure its the trees and not the wall people?

Well you can't see the trees from that angle so there is no way they are the problem. If that is on 13ºE there is no way you are going to get round to 26ºE without major trouble with the wall.
