I know that this what I am going to write doesn't have direct connection to F15, but it could be a challenge
I've had a change to test Vu+Solo2 directly with DrHD F16 & CT 5000 (F16 Soft). Comparison were made on 26E yesterday night, same LNB and dish on this 3 trp. which are on the edge of reception at my place.
10930 V 27500 8PSK 3/4
10890 V 27500 8PSK 3/4
10770 V 27500 8PSK 3/4
10930 V
Vu Solo2 - 0 db, no Signal for lock
DrHD F16 - 8 db, no green signal for lock
CT 5000 - 8 db, no green signal for lock
10890 V (!)
Vu Solo2 - 8.8 db, no problem, Audio/Video present, no freezes
DrHD F16 - 8.7 db, green for Lock, scan done, BUT no video only occasional sound
CT 5000 - 8.7 db, green for Lock, scan done, BUT no video only rare occasional sound
10770 V
Vu Solo2 - 9.4 db, no problem, Audio/Video present, no freezes
DrHD F16 - 9.1 db, green for Lock, scan done, Audio/Video present, no freezes
CT 5000 - 9.1 db, green for Lock, scan done, Audio/Video present, very rare video Freezes
This test is showing that Solo2 has a very good tuner. And I would like to get in hand some other receiver who will beat him
. Maybe F15 ?
Fact is also that Solo2 has very selective tuner because frequency, SR, FEC, polarisation, system (dvb-s,dvb-s2) and modulation (qpsk, 8psk) should be entered very precise to get a signal.
CT & F16 don't mind if there is a dvb-s oder dvb-s2 signal, right frequency, polarisation and SR has to entered and voila - the signal is there.
CT & F16 also showing signal strength independently of the fact that it is not enough for Lock. This feature is not present at Solo2, which is a a big cons for him.
In the case of 10930 V i can see that I have 8 db which is about 0,5 db under the signal lock.
