i have micro-x mdr-4010 fta plus receiver but do't know how to update via pc , which cable use to conect pc ? serial port or usb cable ? help me.

Most receivers use a Null modem serial cable.

Not advised.
Use a PC with a serial interface and RS-232 plug. If not available at home, use a friend's PC or at work.
The O/S can also be imprtant.

I use a USB to serial adapter in conjunction with a null-modem cable all the time:), without a problem.

But a number of people have problems getting them working, it seems to be caused by wrong drivers/incompatible operating systems etc.

Often it is a matter of finding one that does work and sticking with it.
