Hi,

Sorry to start another LNB thread, but most of the previous ones were a bit old or covered single, dual or quad LNBs.

Am interested in what are thought to be the best C120 quattro LNBs for fringe reception. There doesn't seem to be many manufacturers making them. Will be trying the Inverto & Invacom. The Invacom is easy as there is only one model, the Inverto less so as there appears to be more than one model. Which model do people recommend and how will I be able to tell which is which?

Any other makes/models people can recommend?

I have compared Invacom SNF-031 vs. Inverto White Tech quattro. Found no practical difference in signal strength.

I have been testing reception of Astra 2D using Channel Master 2.4 m offset dish.
Here are results using Iverto Quad IDLP-001QDF vs Invacom SNF-031:

10758 V - 7.4 dB
10714 H - no SIGNAL lock!
10729 V - 6.9 dB

And here are repeated measurements with Invacom Single 0.3 dB LNB (SNF-031) that i've borrowed:
10758 V - 8.8 dB
10714 H - 9.4 dB
10729 V - 8.9 dB

As you can see the difference is very big on weak satellite. Inverto performed very poorly. The difference of 2-3 dB is something like as I would have been using 1.8 m dish instead of 2.4 m. Shame on Inverto, all thumbs down.

i would try the Black ultra version from inverto to make a good difference..the one you have used is far too old

Old is my ass... I've bought it 2 weeks ago from Satellitesuperstore in UK. Frankly i've been pissed with the results conclusions. In the future I'll go far away from Inverto as possible .

You are using a bog standard Inverto quad, nothing wrong with it, but nobody that I know has recommended that LNB for fringe reception of Astra 2D, you need the Black Ultra version.

Perdonar mi, por favor....

I've checked the black edition Twin with datasheet specs, compared with white edition Quad.
The major difference is the Higher GAIN figure. White has 55 dB Min while the black has -95 dBc / Hz.
Hmmm.... measured on the different scale? :-S

I never liked Inverto Quad IDLP-001QDF , it performed bad in my setup, Invacom SNF not good LNB either considering it's price.

Black Ultra is working good, i saw that Inverto has a new C120 LNB on their site, haven't seen anyone selling them yet.

Will there be Quad version of Black Pro available in C-120 format too?
As on their web are listed only single and twin Blacks with C-120 flange.

Well I have just tried a MTI AP84-TW which I got brand new off ebay. Only a tenner so worth a punt. I found there was a slight improvement in signal strenght about 2% (- but I tested early and signal increases in moring so improvement may be down to timimg) increasing the higher the frequency of the channel. What I was happy about was I got a number of Eurobird channels that I wasn´t getting before - OK breaking up badly, but its a start.

Will order the invacom to try, but might wait and see if the new inverto comes out as a C120 quattro and order together to save postage.

Extra channels gone now (signal on Eurobird does seem to drop here afternoons and evenings).

Forgot to update this thread, though I reported elsewhere.

Tried Inverto White Tech C120 Quattro, terrible Astra 2D broke up. Also tried the Invacom C120 Quattro, a complete revelation, fantastic performance bringing in many Eurobird channels not received before.

Still a shame Inverto do not do a C120 Black ultra.

I have tested the Inverto Quad Flange LNB and it gave very weak Signal on astra 2 with my 2,4 m PFA antenna. But the Inverto Black Pro Flange outperform all other lnbs i´ve tested.
