Please excuse the newby question but Could anyone recommend a good quality low loss Multiswitch to suit a quatro LNB with the capacity to serve 7 sky boxes and also accept additional inputs in the future such as CCTV, FM, DAB etc.

Quality is more important than price.

i was looking at this and wanted to comment.
if you are going to use sky boxes then you need a 5x12 multiswitch.
you will then need a quatro lnb.
this has seperate outputs.
hl and vl,v hi and h hi.
and terresterial input.
the cctv camera can be modulated with a modulator and sent down the terresterial line.
if you don't have sky plus then you will need one line from the switch to the receiver.

Vision V5-516MP switch isn't bad for the money. It has gain for the weaker signals and also incremental output so over a building you can get the same levels at each point. None of the other switches do this :D

If your only after single feeds a Vision V5-508MP would do the job.

You could also try a Fracarro SWI4516 for Sky+ or a SWI4508 for single feeds, although you are limited to what you can do with these switches as they are self levelling dependent on the input signal.

Also you can try Triax TMP 5x8 for single feed or TMP 5x16 for Sky+

Avoid Delta switches as they are crap. They will do the job but for how long is anybodies guess.

To add stuff later on you can use a multiplexer or a COFDM modulator for the CCTV.

Vision stuff is excellent, although they do have PSU issues, especially the stuff thats remote powered.

I am in a similar position. I need a multiswitch to send a signal round my house but from looking at the vision brochure it says that not all outputs are the same and that they feature "fixed slope pre-emphasis". What does that mean?

In my system the longest cable run is only about 9 meters and the shortest is about 4 meters so wouldn't I be better to buy a multiswitch with all outputs equal?

With the vision can I just plug any room into any output or is it more complex than that?
