Not sure if posted this in correct forum -

I have a zone 2 sky dish 60 CM Raven.

is it possible or has anyone tried to recieve 1 West channels with this i.e.

trying to recieve the epl footy coverage on a zone 2 60 cm sky dish

from Either 1 West or 4.8 E Astra 4 with Zone 2 .

sorry Location - Liverpool NW.

I realize a bigger dish is required but am amazed at how much these smaller dishes can perform to get other european sats ??? i.e have had hotbird and astra 1 on a zone1

just wanted to see if anyone has done this and what results they have had...

cheers.

Hotbird and Astra 1 are easy caches with a Zone 1, in the main.

No chance of much from 1W with a Zone 2, though. You might get BBC World and a few others, but that's about it.

Similar outcome for Astra 4 as well.

Those Birds have several beams, most of which are not favourable for small dish use in the UK. Although it varies a fair bit from North to South,

I picked up 1w great with a standard sky LNB and now I get the Nordic beams with the Black Ultra. I get the Nordic 4.8e beam for Viasat but not very good in rain

1w and 5e Nordic beams get stronger as you go North East. I've had DigiTv, and Canal Nordic with a relatively good signal level on a Zone 2 and WNC quad. Didn't hold up in poor weather though. And I wouldn't hold up much hope at all for Viasat PL, with bob all change of getting the HD.

8w, 5w should be no problem, as should 9/10e and 42e, and you might just sneak in a few others. I've had 16e bearly recievable, but there on a Zone 2.
