Maybe a quick summary of what was wrong might help others with similar problems?

Basically if you're using USALS, don't align the motor and elevate the dish from reference like on Diseqc.

As soon as I did the adjustments from Thor, USALS no longer 'over shot' and it is now working perfectly.

Correct, unfortunately, that motor should be able to take a lightish 1.1m / 1.2m dish - provided you beef up the motor-pole clamp (or it WILL bend) and you would have to make the pole really sold and absolutely vertical.

The pole does concern me.

I had a 6 foot scaffold pole sunk into concrete, then filled with concrete and pinned to a smaller wall on my old motorised system.

This one is fastened to a big paving slab but the actual pole itself doesn’t feel the most robust.

Due to the fact I will be probably moving house in 2023, I didn’t want to go down that route but the Gibertini feels heavier than my old 1M Orbital dish did.

You probably need a large "non-penetrating ground mount" with an incorporated pole (they are not very tall!) and which allows you to put concrete slabs on top of it to keep the whole assembly firmly down.

One of those came with my Gibby & STAB motor, and, not then needing it at the time, I advertised it here but then withdrew it from sale as I may need it if/when we move house.

I popped out today with the spirit level and it is bang on level, it’s just a 1M 2” pole and that allows flex, plenty of it.

The eastern sats are not blocked by trees but by a 7ft brick wall so if I did get a patio mount, I would need to elevate it on bricks or find one with a decent sized pole.

If I lower the dish on the pole I think I’ll cure the rocking but I’m losing height for the eastern sats.

At the moment it’s sitting on a line of house bricks and a 600mmx600mm slab. It’s about 4ft off the ground.

You'll definitely need a base that's bigger than 600mmX600mm (2ftX2ft) - I think my mount is nearly twice in both dimensions - but it might help if you were able to get some more slabs and put them down to overlap the edges of the existing one to effectively increase it's size.

I didn’t think about that, that’s a good idea.

If I can find a mount like yours on eBay I will go for it as when I finally move, I will be going with a bigger dish.

It’s bobbing around like a TV aerial in the wind - but weighs a hell of a lot more.

NB: the stabilising bars to the scaffolding poles supporting the 2 motorised dishes are below the motors because those motors had to be high on the poles to see over the garage - whereas, ideally, they would be above the motors.

I gave mine away to a mate. Regret it really, it was in great condition and performed well.

Moved to place that ‘hated’ dishes so ended up giving it away.
