IS he saying that they have gone off the air, implying replace by 2F ??
No. He is drawing a distinction between North beam and South beam TPs. When 2A and 2B swap to 2F the North beam ones should become receivable in the Canaries on the pan-European beam (although the official footprint shows a 120 cm dish, not 60 cm).

And those of us in the Nordic areas can wave goodbye... ;)

so i guess i should count my blessings here, in hungary, as i only ever had problems with 2d/1n, never with 2a/2b. those work fine even with a 80cm dish

Hows you signal on the Sky News TP? for me it's borderline weak. Rain kills it

It's a bit weak on an 80cm during the day but no problems on a 1.8m in Helsinki but strangely seems a bit stronger in Lapland on my 80cm up there.

yes thats my point OFFICIAL dish size in TF for 2A south is 90CM (can use a 60cm)
so on 2F PANEUROPA BEAM we are looking at 1.2m (can use 90cm - but to get E28A you need a meter)

I have both 2.4m (Channel Master) and 80cm at 28.xE both with Inverto Black Ultras. I will report once 2F lights up and the TP swap starts.

Unfortunately I'm in the UK at the moment so can't check reception from Finland when 2F starts up but I do have a list of quality levels for all 28E transponders in the UK taken in Nov 2011, May 2012, and today for comparison with any power level changes on my Technomate 6900. At the moment all those dates show the same quality within about 1-2% so seems pretty steady over the past year.

Isn't 1E going east though? It's already beyond 40E.

If I remember correctly when they tested 1N @28.2E they began with data signals before actual tv transmissions.

Can we expect the same with 2F?
