If you emigrated somewhere warmer ...
Funny you should say that.
Some thirty years ago I was diagnosed with chronic bronchitis. I was working in fairly stressful job at the time; well paid but lots of hassle. One of my co-directors had already had time off with a nervous breakdown and I used to say that I left the job at the gates when I went home as I had no desire to go the same way. But I obviously wasn't able to do this as I used to come down with bronchitis attacks three of four times a year.
I asked the doctor if there was anything I could do and he said to move somewhere warmer. So on doctor's advice (!) we bought the house in France, intending to move there as soon as possible but definitely by retirement time.
Well it didn't work out that way and we're still here in Blighty but we still have our pied-a-terre in France. In fact I'm off there this evening. Apparently the weather down there is quite mild and not raining...
