cool, i'll follow that logic when I have a play with mineWith circular polarisation, it makes no difference but with linear, the 0 degree line should be pointing downwards. On mine, this makes the heatsink appear at a 45 degree angle.

why you substitute declination angle Instead of adding It - In practice declination angle Is added to polar mount elevation angle _http://arrowe.com/polarmount.htmlCorrect polar mount elevation for your location is 38.8º. Declination is 6.7º. If you subtract the declination from the elevation it will give you the elevation of your due south satellite. 38.8 - 6.7 = 32.1º
You are getting confusing elevation and polar axis. They are at 90º to each other. Declination is always less than polar elevation. Satellites are over the equator. You are further north. That means you have to point the dish down towards the horizon a little.why you substitute declination angle Instead of adding It - In practice declination angle Is added to polar mount elevation angle _http://arrowe.com/polarmount.html
Huevos
thank you for reply
two questions If you please
where are you getting from modifyed polar mount settings
when I have apex declination angle for prime focus dish how can I convert It to use with Gilbertiny 150 offset which Is said to have offset angle of 21.3 deg
for example If apex declination angle for prime focus dish Is 57.9 deg do I have to add 21.3 deg
I have a gibertini 125, the 32.1° was for 1°W if you have a prime focus dish set it to 32.1° if you have offset dish set it to (gibertini 1.25 offset 21.3) so 32.1-21.3=10.8 dish angle.
I also have a multi lnb rail on the dish, I think this is the cause.Chris! You have got 0,4* difference between calculated and real. That simply means LNB is not located in antennas focus , otherwise you would be getting best performance of system when antenna is leaning exactly 10,8*
The lnb I am talking about is the centre one.If you are speaking about central LNB than it does not matter how many LNBs are installed additionally
Find your house @ dishpointer.com and look for elevation, that will be something about 32*What is the correct elevation for 1° W?
OK, now extract from 31,6* offset angle of your dish and result will be needed leaning of the face of the dish when it is pointed to 0,8*W (with some mistake, as you are using polar-mount ant Thor is not your due-South satellite).
