Don't you just put the usb stick in the box and press ok on the file you want?
It then should run that firmware.. that's how it works on my TM5402 box anyway.
On my box pressing 'upload' means uploading the software on the box to the usb stick instead.
My first tm5402 was faulty so had to get another one. Seems they are easily damaged in transit so ask sender to make sure its well packaged.

Yeah I meant HD channels were far louder than SD channels.. is that the same problem you had?
Even with both HD/SD channels set to high the HD channels were quite a lot louder than the SD channels.. I think the spdif option wasnt working on the box.
