'Fortec Star Passion' (& a dead SL65) One of them big Woks on the outside, and a thingy that moves it about a bit.

I have a 0.58m high dish and have been offered a 1.1m dish

Is it worth upgrading, and I read somewhere this dish may need planning permision?

Technically yes, as it is greater than 1m in height. If it is the TD110 you are refering to, and if they have not changed the dimensions it is actually less than 1m accross.

Changing to that size dish will make a huge difference to what you can pick up from other satelites.

You can have up to a 1 metre dish without planning consent..
And if the planning officer wants to measure your dish then best of luck to him if its 30 ft in the air LOL

The extra area will improve signals but make sure the LNB matches your replacement dish

That's nearly double the dish size.

Technically, doubling the surface area of a dish will crtete a doubling of power as a ratio so to speak.... sort of....LOL :D

There is an LNB with the dish, but as previous post I need a quad?

Actually, if the dish size is doubled, the area of it is quadrupled.

With the gain proportional to area (roughly).

which is suppose must be 6dB.

Yes, one of which is designed for a circular dish not a mini-dish :)

I think I learned a lesson there :)

I might need to upgrade my bracket If I get the 1.1m dish?

Well I just picked up a system and Dish

The dish motor comprises:
Triax TD 110 1.1m dish
Inverto IDLP 40SL Silvertech single LNB
JAEGER SUPERJACK DG-120 DISEQC MOTOR
and heavy duty angle mount

Now I need a suitable QUAD LNB for this dish
Are these suitable?

Smart Titanium TQSG 2nd Edition
MTI Supreme Line AK54-XT2BL

Or any suggestions?

I dont want to end up with another Sky LNB! :-Nooo
