hi my dad has a 1.3 televes dish which blew over and pulled the support out of the roof, we have fixed it back down, ive got a lacuna mk4 but i cannot get a strong signal, ive tried ajusting the elevation slightly and to the sides and the lnb skew but theres no change, ive also put on a new lnb as the old one hit the roof, its a televes lnb.

Im getting break up on the channels

I dont know what else to try, i installed a 1.2 dish on my roof and i have a strong signal with no problems

thankyou for reading this

The fact that the LNB hit the roof suggests that you might need to look for collateral damage.

eg The focal point may have shifted a little due to distortion caused by the impact.

What about the Dish itself - has it sustained any warping or dents?

Sounds very much like a warped dish. Also LNb skew is critical down there.

i did push the lnb arm down and the signal did get a bit better, but i didnt want to break the arm.
If the dish is warped does that mean a new dish?

You could try adjusting the dish and skew specifically for the channels/tranponders that you require. You can usually slide the LNB inand out a bit as well, to get the best focus.

If the dish is bent/warped then yes, you'd need a new one for optimum perormance, although it would be OK most probably for stronger sats for your region.

Also make sure that your replacement LNB is of the correct type for your dish. Getting one the same as the original might be a start.
