When you say 40 satellites, which ones are you hoping to pull in? whatever you decide, a single static dish will not work due to offset LNBs not performing past about 20 degrees. You'd be better with a couple of Torroidal dishes for east and Western satellites and then a couple of 2.4m dishes for the difficult to receive satellites.

You will also then probably end up having your ip transmissions blocked by the copyright holders of the channels you are re-transmitting.

Thanx Rolf,
20 degrees limits me quite a bit, I think smaller dishes may be the way to go but Im still doing my research, would copyright holders of FTA channels block re-transmissions?

Of course they would you still require broadcasting rights to channels that are FTA in any one country whatever method of transmission you are using, for example Freesat, the whole reason for a tightly focused beam directed on the UK is to restrict others from watching, I am not however saying that people do not already do what you appear to be proposing ;)
 
The three metre dish has a greater beamwidth than the 10m meaning the performance whould be better.

Then again you could look around for offset dishes of 3.8m, fitting LNBs on each side of the main focal point will be much easier.
