12382 H levels

4wd

Getting the picture
My Satellite Setup
28e, 19e
My Location
Bergen, Norway \ Alpes Maritimes, France
Just rescanned for quest \ quest red, listed (flysat, king) as 2E eu, currently only 5,5 - 6 dB here, all other 2E eu's are 17 dB ...??

It will have been switched over to the UK beam so Quest / Red can be fta for Freesat.

Satellite is 2F (not 2E). 6db here with 3m.

Looked like it was already on a uk beam, was only approx 9 to 10 dB here before move.
Now it's on the weakest by far 28e transponder\signal (assuming my lnb is ok).
Solo2 examples at time of writing: Sky News 17 dB, BBC HD 13 dB, Ch 5 10 dB, Quest 6 dB.

btw, how's other freq's on the 3 M in Finland compared to 12382 ?

With a 1,8 M CM-antenna I can´t get 12 382 H at all right now. That transponder and 12 422 H (which is on 2F and BBC uses from time to time) is by far the weakest and as ocean04 wrote 12 382 is also on 2F.
I have been able to receive 12 422 on rare occasions (when in use) but 12 382 seems impossible. It might be worth mentioning 12 304 H is pretty weak here too. However that transponer is on 2E.

I can't get Quest & Red in the new freq. Very sad

Some lnb tests on this rather special transponder, generally approx 3 to 4 dB less than other uk's.
Alpes Maritimes, Famaval 125. Daytime see attach, will post evening results.

Edit: The reason why I can receive 12 422 (when active) but not 12 382 is the FEC. 12 422 normally uses 2/3 or 3/4 but 12 382 uses 5/6.

Evening report, cold up there on the roof :O) but good reception conditions, clear sky and moonlight. In bad weather it would probably be gone in the evenings here. Very weak indeed compared to the 'normal' frequencies on 28e, and nothing to gain by trying tweaking dish\lnb. BBC2 HD for comparision.

4wd,
thank you for your perfect lnb test
looks like MTI AK54 XT2N Is absolute champion and Inverto BU Is last after cheap Max 11
did you try Inverto BU single

Hello, the test was basically to ascertain 12382 got low level, eliminating lnb as cause. About the lnb's, best is on this particular setup, on some other dish or sat results may differ.

But generally, Maximum xo-11 and that AK54-XT2E-F quad have been good for weak levels on whatever dish they have been used. About MTI got some other AK54's (the big white ones XT2N), those I have never managed to get any decent results for weak signals. And here's another AK54 https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net...c/Ak_54.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20080224030641 that one may try on the dish :O)

do you mean that AK54 _MTI High Line AK54-XT2N Quad-LNB Preisvergleich | CHECK24
_LNB MTI QUAD 0.2 dB GAIN 70DB HIGH LINE AK54-XT2N - BFSAT
very Interesting - high gain line AK54 XT2N with 70 dB gain which Is one of the most expensive lnbs Is bettered by ordinary universal line
probably XT2E are newer
