Hi! & Happy new year,
i have 2 identical Humax PVR's in the same cupboard & the problem i have is that the remote controls are on the same frequency & will operate both at the same time. Is there a way to separate this problem??

Thanks

Chris.

Explain your setup more clearly.

Are you using remote extenders, why are they in a cupboard, are the tvs in different rooms?

Hi, at the moment it is just 2 pvr's, sat & CCTV & TV in the same room . But i intend to use a Labgear HDU681 that i have spare & place the PVR's & other equipment (Sat & CCTV) in the loft of the bungalow it can be pipped to other rooms. But i thought i should sort this one out 1st. I have got the buy a remote extender eventually & i believe there are ones that will separate IR signals to different units but not sure on this part yet.

Cheers

I am unaware of any way to change the codes so that they won't both respond at the same time. I can only suggest that you cover up the receptor in one while you operate the other. If you decide to use some IR extenders then you'll have to be careful to isolate one receiver from the other visually in the cupboard.

BTW, I hope that the cupboard allows decent air movement as increased temperatures reduce the lifetimes of electrical devices.

If you use remote extenders with the sensors and remotes in different rooms with their own cabling, then you should be able to separate the ir controls that way.

Signals can be separated electronically with sky boxes, but don't think it can with same make Freesat ones.
