I trying to set up my new DM800 with my disecq rotor and I am having some trouble.

I have a Triple Dragon and it was driving my dish fine in disecq 1.2 mode. I cannot use usals as my dish it not aligned quite right for that and I cant get to it easily as it is on the roof.

I started to program the rotor with the DM800 which started to work fine, but when I went back to the Triple Dragon, the positions of the sats had gone.

I thought maybe this was because I had stored each sat as a different number on both receivers (ie i made 19E pos 19 on the DB and it was something else on the TD) so I made them the same (19E is now pos 19 on both receivers) but this doesent seems to work either.

What i want to know is, is it possible to have 2 receivers controlling one rotor independently of each other in disecq 1.2 mode?

Thanks.

Theoretically it should be possible, as you are just selecting preset positions, although you can only have one of them connected at a time.

However, if you can get USALS to work, it could be more straight forward. If the motor is off a bit, just enter your Longitiude incorrectly to compensate.

Ok thanks, so if i understand correctly. I should be able to set, lets say astra 19E to pos 1 in both receivers, program where pos 1 is in the motor on one of the receivers and then both receivers, when i say go to pos 1, go send the motor to the same place?

I think so, yes. I tried it on a TM9100 (Linux) and a TM1000, but I ran into problems though, as the TM1000 doesn't tell you the position number it stores them at.

But, with two Linux boxes, you shouldn't have that problem.

Though the USALS hack option is a back-up approach if it gets too troublesome.:-rofl2

We used to do that with diseqc 1.2... have various boxes and motors on the same diseqc numbers ... but the TM1000s don't let you know what number's what or change them so you'd have to line them all up to the TM's default. Diseqc 1.2 is still handy .. .you usually get better motor control ...

It would be handy if using USALS didn't mess the diseqc settings on some setups so you could swap whenever you wanted.
