My Satellite Setup
105cm dish with 0.1 smart LNB. TBS 6903 Card & Octagon SF4008. 55E-65W.
My Location
West Yorkshire
Just had a scan of this position and noticed a data TP that seems to be carrying the German ARD channel. It's a continuous type stream but I can make enough sense out of it to see what it is, which is unusual! Can anyone else get this? Tuning details 11169V, 42727 2/3 16APSK, scans in with ID of 'HAIVISION NETWORK MEDIA VIDEO SERVER'

I found some software that might clear them but not got round to checking, follow the link at the end of the thread.
 
Ah yes, SAMdvb, I have this installed, but can't say I've had much luck with it!
 
This has been on and off since yesterday, I suspect it is the NBC feed so if you like the commentary of Phil Liggett it's one to look out for. Very sadly without his partner Paul Sherwen who died last year.

ITV are usually on the same sat but nothing found so far although as can be seen they're there.

Now that 24.5 West is in an inclined orbit I thought it might be useful to have a little chart that tracks the inclination over a 24 hour period. I have attached a chart below the presents the change in elevation per hour.

At the moment, 24.5 West is approximately 0.5 degrees inclined. Some very slight adjustments to a satellite dish may be required to keep a lock on any signals present.

I hope the chart has some use or amusement value to the satellite feed men.

Intelsat 905 has disappeared from the horizon of interest of many enthusiasts for objective reasons.
First, the satellite's inclination is 4.6°, making it challenging to capture the signal without a dual tracking system. Second, as a consequence of this situation, active transponders are only for Data, not feeds.
But despite this, I visited the position, and in case you are still curious, I posted the spectrum with the active transponders.
