Hi everybody,

Just seen this on eBye (item No 110040960630) and am awaiting a reply to it's dismantled size and weight.

My question is: Does anybody know of this make/type of dish and how it might compare with a non-petalled(?) 2.4m.

Thing is, I have pictures in my mind of being able to watch Have I Got News For You the same year it was produced! Paying for it and shipping costs to see it perform like a 1.7m offset would have me in tears (and the divorce court).

have a look at Tecatel S.A., You will find the technical datas.

I have got the same Prodelin antenna (but the motorised version). I bought it three years ago. It took me more than two years to mount it properly in my large garden. It was a nice personal experience,

Looks like a bargain.If assembled carefully,it should easily outperform a solid 2.4...;)
 
I have installed the 3.7m version and they are excellent over here.very good gain but tricky to install.

I agree with you m8...that's why i said "If assembled carefully"
Its so easy to fail with large petalised dishes.!!
 
I agree the thing is with all dishes like this is take time putting it together,

how come they are made up of petals to bolt together cant they make a solid 3.4m dishes ?
 
Yes thay can, but the manufacture and transportation cost would I guess be much higher.

It would cost a few quid to post this about £400 gbp plus it could get damaged aswell,

The Winegard 3.1m dish i had was excellent in design, you hooked each petal to each other, it was a groove where you hooked them together.

I used a american tool called Wise-grip to hold the petals together while i tightened the bolts.

Not too heavy at all, it's pretty easy to ship petalized dishes if you know how to pack it.

When i sold mine i shipped it to a guy in Northern Africa who needed it, total weight 250kg something including the europallet and packaging.

And the 3.1m and 3.4m is not a major difference.

Don't Andrew ship their 2.4m dish in a simple cardboard box like the smaller models?

2.4 offset comes in two pieces.
 
I noticed that Crossbones in this thread has placed an offer on the 3.4m dish.

Do you have room for it in your tiny garden?

No need to worrie about that m8!:D

It hasnt reached reserve yet any how.
