More news. Today 12311 and 12341 are off air, replaced by 12370 and 12400. 12224 is still active. It seems they are testing all the transponders on the bird.

hi -
12370 is ok here in northwest uk -- nothing from the other t.p,s
signal strength is the same as 12311 was last night -- 6.5 db on 1.8cm
and just holding a pixelated test card on 1.2cm .
clear skies here again tonight
regards ---

12224 and 12370 are both about 55% quality here. I read reports from Bulgaria and they recieve it too, but the strange for me is that everyone has better levels at vertical. And only I at horizontal.

hi- just had a quick look here,
the footprint from this sat must favour a more northern location --
i have the strongest signal i,v had to date - on the 1.2 c.m. (windy but clear skies here)
46-53 quality on the M3 - no pixelation tonight, and a clear audio tone on --- 12370 H

cheers --

I hope you realize that elevation nightmare on the Triax will have you tearing your hair out. The TD78 is bad enough even with the wider beamwidth. Thats why I stuck with my ancient LH despite it weighing a tonne. A Gibertini 1m would have been a better choice. Is it too late to send it back?!

As its going to be assembled at fence post level along with all the others Im not too bothered about it being a pita to adjust.Once its locked down it'll probably stay at one location.

It'll give me a good project for the bank holiday weekend - assuming I dont get dragged up to oh's allotment to do more digging

Hi there! 12370 and 12400 are down. The new ones are 12428R and 12457R. I get about 45% signal quality on 12428, but 12457 is very, very weak. 12224 is still active.

Hi. The tests of the L polarization have started. According to flysat.com there are 2 active transponders - 12443 and 12472. I only can get a very poor signal from 12443. And 12224R is still active and there are no changes in its strength.

True, but Nimiq 1 is the only one satellite broadcasting in circular polarization in Ku band over western Europe. I got it with a linear universal lnb.

According yesterday's TLE, Nimiq 1 must have left 44.5 East two days ago, and moving to the West now.
Is that true, are all transponders gone?

Nimiq 1 has been sent to junk orbit meanwhile.

A week ago, the similar Nimiq 2 has left 91.1° West and is moving East with 1.8°/day.
Just like with Nimiq 1, I can't find a clue where it's heading to.
Now it's near 77° West, so it could still become a location beaming towards North America.
