Ive managed to get a weak lock on one solitary tp on Intelsat 10.

AlKass 1

11476V 2700 3/4

Its encrypted but Im happy as this is the first time Ive ever seen I-10 - its old home of 68.5E is way down behind the hill here.

Nothing at all on

11479V 2700 3/4 or
12602 27500 3/4

1.1m Triax dish. As the clouds rolled in its vamoosed again! :D

Playtime ended for today - lunch then planting spuds up at OH's allotment

For some reason OH thinks planting spuds is far more important than chasing down Intelsat 10. Foolish woman!

:-rofl2

First 2 hits for me on this bird, but way beyond the lock:

Ive locked 11476V 2700 3/4 again on this perfect dxing afternoon. Absolutely sod all on the other 2 frequencies.

Hmm wonder where this is coming from. If its not I-10 its from somewhere very close.

11227V 3066 auto - a huge signal on the 1.1m - up near 90% for the strength, just showing a testcard.

Its Azersat 1 next door at 46E

http://www.flysat.com/azerspace1.php

Has to be the European beam - its an absolutely MASSIVE signal!

Ive just about managed to lock & scan the religions channels on 12602V 27500 3/4

Its very very weak though

No chance on anything less than the 1.1m Triax here.

This freq. 11226V comes from Intelsat 10 @ 47.5° East and not from AzerSpace 1 / Africasat-1A @ 46° East
for two reasons .

1) the signal strenght it's much much much stronger at 47.5° E (18db!!!) than 46° E .
2) The Ku downlink Frequency Range of AzerSpace it's 10.95 -11.20 .

So it's no possiple that 11226V comes from AzerSpace .

I have to agree with this. At 46E, I wasn't getting any lock at all but as soon as I moved the dish to 47.5E, I got 8.8dB/54% SNR on Vu+ Uno.

Cheers lads - the reasoning seems sound to me.

If anyone want to find Intelsat-10 atm go for 11226V - its an easy catch!

hi -
just been checking here again with 1.8 cm -
i,m still placing 11226 V 3065 further east -- at 48E ?

i,m getting logos tv 47.5 east at 12602 V 27500 peak sig strength 8.2 - 8.5 db

11226 V 3065 shows 11.3 db at this position , if i move further east (10 counts on the actuator) to peak the signal strength at 14.6 db -- and i no longer have a lock on logos tv 47.5 east 12602 V 27500 , only 0.5 - 1.5 db ??

(10 counts = 0.5 degree on my setup that far east on the arc )

cheers - nelson.b.

edit - i also loose lock on the stronger ALkass 11476 V 2700 when peaking 11226 V 3065

11226 V is neither Azerspace 1 @ 46 East not Intelsat 10 @ 47.5 East.
It's Eutelsat 48C @ 48.0 East. A little inclined with 0.44 degrees, so some signal strength variation is possible.

Neither Flysat (accepting any report) nor Lyngsat (reporting too late) are complete and correct with the rare and old satellites.
Sorry but I gave up long ago sending them corrections.

When in doubt about what is out there, just check my page: http://members.ziggo.nl/hvdh16/Sats/Sats.htm
It also has links to http://frequencyplansatellites.altervista.org
That is also helpful to identify an uncertain satellite.
