Newbie Here 4K settop boxes

I am using a 1 terabyte hard drive with the A4K as I can continue watching live tv on my other equipment :)

I require to watch on same device, so a twin tuner is required. Hence I need to get a Mutant or a comparable alternative.

I ordered mine(S2X Tuner) from SatKing Germany, unable to find any in the UK and its been dispatched.
Did this arrive OK, and more importantly, does it work? Saw on another forum Gigablue were still working on drivers for them.

Does ciplushelper plugin work with any image?
I am using VTi 11.0.2 and prefer not to change it.
vti 13xx supports ci+ I use my nc+ ci+ cam any cayman card, only down side is any recordings remain encrypted.

Arrived OK but no drivers. SatKing tells me I can return it, probably will.

I don't understand which tuners I need. I was posting on the WoS forum and was told that FBC tuners might be better for me than S2X. So I'm lost about tuners now and don't know which to get.
Can anyone give me some info on the differences? I thought opting for the S2X would be future proofing. This box will be a long term purchase (until it fails). However, I don't want to be needlessly spending money on an overspecc'ed PVR.

I've narrowed the search down to:

1. GigaBlue UHD UE 4K [£249 (S2 FBC tuners)]
2. Octagon SF4008 [£225 (Twin S2X tuners)]
3. Mutant HD51 [£211 (2 x S2X tuners)] [£199 ( 1 x S2, 1 x S2X tuners]

(All with 500GB HDD)

However, I'm not sure which to get.

Just got my octogan 4008 today. Better remote then my volo2!! and drives the motor faster then solo2!! Have to mess about further... Multistream works on 12.5w and 5w with stock vix. I say its alot faster also than the vu solo2.

But... No open pli support!

Use SatDreamGr, it's essentially an OpenPLI image with extra goodies!

Depends if you want "No Stream Relay" then it's the Mutant HD51

Thanks for all the replies. I the end I opted for the Mutant HD51.

I've got no experience with these boxes, so hopefully they are straightforward to setup and maintain!

Same as any Enigma2 box really, it's a cracking bit of kit and well liked on this forum!

Yeah, wish I'd gone for that now instead of the Gigablue, not that there's anything wrong with the Giga...... but the images are turd
Well, apart from the lack of actual S2X support :-doh

Have been testing the Zgemma H9S which I paid £74 for on ebay. It's pretty damn good!

Plays H265 4K perfectly and has a web interface which lets you tune channels remotely. It does not do 4:2:2 but you can just stream it over the network via VLC and it will. Will certainly be grabbing another one of these.

EDIT: Oh and it plays 16APSK (confirmed via a BBC OB on 16e) and claims to do 32APSK too but I can't find a channel to test it.
