Hi, This problem is driving me crazy,)(-red

I recently bought a 500s and installed Gemini. I read that I must store sat positions manually so I did. Im using a superjack and the dm has a 2amp psu.

The thing is once stored the motor usually will refuse to change sats unless I channel surf at a fast pace. A random channel usually gets the dish moving however I dont know why it takes so long to start moving. It tells me moving dish but will not move. This is worse over further distances.

Thanks for looking

Does a 500s have enough power to move a superjack? Or does a superjack have it's own power supply e.g. vbox?

The 500s is not capable of operating a superjack without the assistance of a vbox or positioner, it can only supply enough power to move a diseqc motor.

Is it better to exchange the motor or get a vbox?, also what motors work?

This is a little confusing, can you show us a photo of your motor? If you have moved it with the 500s, then it must be a DiseqC motor, it may be your motor settings which are incorrect.

Your latitude setting looks wrong, but that won't affect the moving of the motor.

Can you take some pictures of your dreambox motor settings and add them as attachments, these image hosting companies are too slow and not required when you can upload the pictures.

I have seen threads in the past where the DM500 units can't handle the current required by some DiseqC motors, it may be that your's draws too much for the box.

I actually have not entered any setting I just use the manual positioner (left/right) then store the position. The thing is Usals and Diseqc work on my manhattan and TM so I do think its the power going to the motor. I need to find a motor that takes less power. This is because when it moves, it moves to the correct sat its just the time taken to start moving that is the problem.

By the way my lat is 51.57326 must i move it down a bit?

It appears to be set at 49 or thereabouts, so it needs to be set at 51.57

Hi I have a db500s, I also bought a Superjack 6600 to move the dish as I also heardthat the 500 will not power the diseque motor. I asked a question regarding the superjack this week and was told that the 500 will power the motor.

Last night I set the DB to many satellites using diseque. Saved the present satellite (hotbird) and manually turned dish to astra.and it works well. apart from the message moving dish seems to pop up without reason. I to have not set the limts, but all I have to do is go into the channel guide choose a channel, and it automatically changes sat.

PS I now have a new Superjack 6600 looking for a home.

Regards
Tim.
