52E (TurkmenAlem/MonacoSat)

Very strange - Im using an 80cm dish and the two Turkmen tp's are a huge signal.
 
After nearly three hours of trying the Emitor ran out of juice, just when I got a lock on 12303V! Confused the Emitor as it cannot normally decode HD signals, the spectrum etc can see them, but not able to display, normally shows them in red on the channel list, but where it was so weak I was able to get sound only, just before it went to sleep. Will try with the VU+ shortly, but don´t hold much hope, as was only getting 5.1dB.
 
Ive had the TM5402 signal strength meter running on this one all evening - and absolutely NOTHING! Most peculiar!
 
Just a thought on this...

Flysat shows the 2 existing transponders on the West Beam. Both roughly the same here 16dB SQ.
There is also the East Beam .. which does cover the UK but might not be quite as strong. Flysat shows this as West Beam. But may be incorrect. The new SES transponder is 14 dB SQ

Either West or East beam should not be that bad for AS on the Eng/Scot border.
These footprints are only distinctly different for Russia and the N half of Scandinavia, where only West beam should get through. Any member there that can report the reception of the 3 transponders?

Interesting Brian and as I mentioned, local peeps here cannot see or lock it. Think you said that Huevos cannot see it because of trees so keep us informed if you manage a reading/lock or not, thanks.....still got to try myself yet on the 1.8m. respect-048.gif
 
Had another go, this time could only get 4 dB at best, will try later in the dark again, possibly change Invacom quad for brand new one to see if it can suck a little more in

Good news, earlier when I posted, I had 4 dB at the dish and nothing in the house after the 35m cable run. Bad news, I´m cooking for guests so can´t check the level at the dish face!

I have a similar problem with my 100cm dish + TM6900 the view of 52 east is obscured by my roof,
12264V 44% Quality
12302V 41% --------
12437H no signal

I will try an Lnb change from IBU to a Smart Lnb see if that makes any difference back in a few minutes.
 
No joy with Lnb change on the 100cm dish my best bet will be to replace the current motor with a Stab 100 that will raise the dish approx 10 to 12 inches may even get 53 east.
 
Back to the 88cm dish + TM5402HD M1:-
12264 V 94% Quality
12303 V 93% -------
12437 H 90% -------

Very stransge that I get no signal on the 100ccm set up on the last transponder ?
 
Sorry All, after dinner tried two new Invacom lnb´s. First one would not switch between high and low, or H and V, that one is going back. 2nd one gave same result as original, no more than 4.2 dB on 12303V.

Could order the Laminas 2710 x 3015 to try with that, only 2.200€ plus postage! But divorce would cost me much more:eek::eek:
 
Aha! The lnb isnt giving me the H polarity - Ive just spun the lnb round 90 degrees changed the polarity over & bingo.

Now need to put it back for the freebie football :D

When it stops raining I'll change that lnb.
 
Found the problem with the lnb that wouldn´t work. In the dark I failed to notice the supplier had given me a quatro not a quad!
Don´t think it will receive any better if I make sure I connect the tester to VH, can´t check now anyway as cloud has wiped signal all together.
