11649 H and 11659 H.
Considering where it comes from, it's an unbelievable, strong signal and picked up with the 1.10m antenna.
It's 11:30 p.m. EET, if that matters. And it does!

11655 H,3000,1/2,S2-Digital TV
11649 H,8000,3/5,S2-14.2dB

Changed the symbol rate again on 11655 H,3000,1/2, and it is a Digital TV stream.
DTH signal on 11649 H looks like they'd send it to my area. :Y

@satesco
It's not like that with me and quite different from yesterday. It looks like they have 2 signals overlapping again, the spectrum is mangled. I can only lock 11652 10000ks at 4.7dB. There appears to be a 2nd 2000ks signal at 11661 now.

53W_11660H_0956_6-6.PNG

<edit> now the data is off and Watan is at 12.4dB. The 2 2000ks are still there.

Also, with the 1.10m antenna, I checked the two muxes. Even though the 11649 H signal has only 2.4dB this time, I found and locked it. On the other hand, 11659 H has a very weak signal that I could not lock, so I don't know what parameters are used. You can see this on the analyzer, only constellation.
Considering that this Afghanistan package was activated at 87.5E (provisional, backup?), tests seem to be done at 53.0E to determine which parameters and frequencies are optimal for the provider.
Here is the signal on the two TRPs with an antenna of 1.10m(the big one is busy).

The signal has become very weak for me.

Service from 11659 H has been moved to 11651 H,10000, with new mux and symbol rates. With the 1.10m antenna, I only found these parameters (credit goes to @QWER #225).

At a 2MHz distance, it's a problem to discriminate those two frequencies for many tuners and demod,
With a weak signal, SNR 1dB, the Afghan package can still be locked and watched(QED).

The RF signal levels aren't much lower than it was when they were clear of each other. I'm now getting 1dB on a 1.8m where I was getting 12.5dB when Watan was on its own.The problem is the mutual interference. It's not going to matter, within reason, what size dish you have. It's the relative levels and frequencies of the conflicting signals that are setting the SNR. I can't work out why they'd do that unless they are on 2 separate beams and we see both at similar levels and I didn't think that was the case.

Without knowing what content is on 11652 H and the operators testing it, I think we are more speculating, which is what I'm doing right now. Why not?
When the signal fluctuates from 14.2dB to 1 dB and one of the frequencies is moved from one slot to another with different parameters, you wonder what the point of these tests is. I would think it is to check if the frequencies overlap in two different Ku spots, #1 or #2(?).

A relatively similar situation occurs at 57.0E, where, in my area, I observe, depending on signal strength, the two spots, East Africa and Central Asia, crossing between 10950 and 11100 MHz.
It depends on the weather conditions, when I receive one spot, or the other, whose muxes use the same horizontal polarity.

I think they do it that way on purpose. There are guaranteed to be two different beams and this can solve the problem for satellites that do not yet have controllable spot beams. This is also the case at 57° east. All carriers have received a data carrier in the immediate vicinity and are disturbing the Africa beam immensely.

Is there any chance that this is actually some sort of jamming attempt? Seems odd that the 2 signals were clashing, then 2 days ago the Afghan package moves frequency which massively increases the signal for most people, then shortly after the other signal seems to follow it, reducing the signal on the Afghan package drastically. Just seems really strange to me.

After changing frequencies, parameters, and signal strength in a few days for these two(11651 H+11664 H), I have the impression that the operator(unknown) gets free feedback from us on the tests they do almost daily, especially since our reports are from many users in different reception areas.
The promptness with which we respond on the forum encourages him to continue. :)
It seems he is not happy with the results. :unsure

After 12 hours, the disturbance continues again
capture_002_08062024_190102.png

I don't think this is a coincidence, this other signal is definitely following the Afghan package around and deliberately disrupting it, and if you look at this other signal, it's not actually transmitting anything, just 100% null packets. Definitely suspicious if you ask me!

Yes things have changed again, Afghan package changed to SR 2000, but with no TV actually being transmitted, just data with the channel ID's, the other signal seems to have disappeared for now.
