The Titanium is a very good choice. Don't replace it.
You have a good system.

Any pictures of your dish and lnb, motor etc... ?

OK, great, yes, with small antennas it's better to remove the plate, you lose about 3dB (and more dB with the titanium LNB , don't ask me why)
Hi Feedsat.....yes I used the ESX241 with the following scan, the Titanium at times makes me ¿¿¿???....but the 241 seems to behave better on a consistent basis......probably just me (or definately) .:D:D.....just wish I had secured the dual feed version.14-09-2015a 3rd.JPG

@lovelyperson

Thanks for your test and the feedback,, I have never used the ESX241 myself, I can't confirm if it's better or not
til now, The Titanium was the most interesting LNBf I have tested.

Hi Guys,
Been reading this section of the forums with interest, many thanks to all for the great info on the c band satellites etc been very useful. Found this forum via empb's post on another location on the www :-)

Like empb I have been working on a C band project myself - using my old IRTE 1.5m antenna and Titanium C1W-PLL LNB.

I have quite a nice selection of satellite positions from 40E to 40W, on C band, looking to add 55.5W, this seems interesting indeed, would there be a recommendation of good strong signal to enable me to find it ? I see quite a few mentioned in the thread.... Im assuming my 1.5m will be large enough of course.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Hi amdade and welcome here.....good place.....nice peeps.

Do not have a polar mount (YET).......and I find the following to be useful:-
4135 V 30000 DVB-S2
4177 V 30000 DVB-S2

Had an old Irte myself......great dish but with mount included the thing was sooooh heavy....happy memories though. :D

Best of luck and please let us know how you get on with this, thanks.

Hi lovelyperson,
Thanks for the reply and welcome !

Will give those two a try. Yes the polar mount is very heavy. In fact thinking about using it with the fortecstar 2.4m reflector seen on the well known auction site....

Hi Guys
Just an update, no luck for me as yet with 55.5W. Have modified feed support I'm installing today will move the LNB and feedhorn back little. 40W comes in very well, Im wondering if my issue could be trees :-( or possibly my polar mount slightly out at the extremes.

Going west from 40W what would be the next one to check for ? Looks few options...

Thanks in advance

Assuming you are using your 1.5m, the thread OP 'chris1979' uses his 1.2m or 1.5m so obviously it is obtainable but being based in Norfolfk may make a reception difference, Chris being situated south/southwest.

¿Have you the used the App Dishpointer for line of sight issues?
Member Mickha quotes in a thread its use.............'Why not try the dishpointer.com website, type in your postcode, zoom in on the map, and move the green icon, to where you live, then select several satellites, from the drop down box, and check where you would need to site your dish......'.

Perhaps a member with the same size dish etc nearer to you can comment on reception possibilites re: west of 40.5ºW.

The following threads are a good read. Best wishes with your search......it is well worth the hunt! respect-057.GIF

I can only get 55W in the winter, due to a tree blocking my view.

Re 40.5W the tree also blocks my view in the summer. But to get around this I use an ISS 1m fixed with a titanium C-1 Pll. And is a very easy catch.

Thanks guys, Dishpointer very helpful, there is a tree in that direction but Im hopeful will clear. Not had anything H/V all my c band is L/R so far so perhaps my skew angle not correct. (Although I think it is OK)

Will have another go using dishpointer as guide, let you know how I get on

40.5 working fine, have 77 channels on scan, nice :-)

Pretty sure tree problems, heath robinson old ally foil roll and use as gun sight. Couple of pics attached, think have a spot that clears 55.5W, job for another weekend. Antenna looking at 40.5W plus the offending trees :-)thumb_IMG_3338_1024.jpgthumb_IMG_3339_1024.jpg

Hi John, notice that Lyngsat show it as last noted in 2012 and KOS in 2008!

Contact of mine in Mexico says that he last noted it about three years ago and scanned in as 4196 H 4444 listed as 'Panamericana TV-5', channel and was from Peru.

Anyway....would be nice if you were to find something. respect-048.gif

¿Is it possible you could post a list of all the transponders you are locking on this sat?.........thanks.
