Ok ...
Got a bit fed up with not having access to anything east of 30 degrees...so went outside and chopped the lower branches off the troublesome tree ...giving me a sort of porthole to look through..
Having done that ..I checked Tele Chad ...
and yes it was showing signs of life at around 1 db...
prior to the extension wings ...this was a healthy ZERO db ...
Frustrated I went outside again ..and ripped down part of the old wooden fence atop the wall ...this was already partially damaged already when Christina blew over 2 years ago ..
The porthole was effectively made bigger ..
So hole in the fence + trimmed lower tree branches + extension wings + extra 9 inches of pole height = Dadadaaaaaaa
Tele Chad at 2.5 db ...but frequently breaking up..
I am afterall ..clipping a semi a distance away..
So ..
Gonna rebuild that bit of fence ...but install sliding panels ...for privacy when closed ....but a bit more arc ..when open..
:D

.............. and I am reminded of a "One Foot In The Grave" Episode where Mr.Swaney had converted part of the boundary fence into a sort of reticulated opening in the fashion of a vertical blind.

hi - vipersan --
i was experimenting with a - 1,2 channel master this evening - to see if it was possible to receive C band channels from 49 east -- but nothing was received at that position -- my doubts were confirmed :(

so while i had this test setup going - i had a try for tele chad at 57 east and to my surprise it gave just enough signal to lock and produce a watchable picture :) so ran a blind scan and brought up the ETV channels at -- 3661 L 5800 :) the signals from both t.p.,s have got slightly stronger during the past half hour

cant get the dish any lower to try further east - as the bottom of the dish is hitting the pole :(

regards nelson.b.

If that tree was on my property it would have been uprooted a long time ago.
