Looks like a good night to scan 5E.

Im getting weak signals off a handful of the Nordic beam transponder I almost never see coming up on my scans.

Bugger all worth watching of course as I dont have any subscriptions for the tp's Im getting and theres not a lot fta

:D

I'm on the case, i will report in a mo.

Indeed very little FTA though, 11843H 27500 1st Baltic Music all i have, others i've had for some time.

SES 5 or Astra 4 AS?

4A BSS Nordic

Im just about locking 1st Baltic Music fta on 11843H, but its nowhere near watchable.

This is on an offset lnb on the 1m dish aligned onto 9/10E thats only roughly aligned onto 5E - I'll have to see what I can do to improve it now :D

I get all of them , but then i'm not using an offset lnb.

I get it fine on the Penta which is centered on 9E..

Baltic Music.webp

Always found the 4A Nordic Beam an okay catch here in South Wales.

It get them all easily on a 90cm offset to 1w in Buckinghamshire.

Easy catch on 1.1m in N.Yorks too.

1st Baltic Music is v.strong indeed.

Ive always had problems with the Nordic beam stuff - even when the 85cm Penta was on 5E the 4A Nordics were a rare catch.

Maybe Im under a null

:D

At my location I find that the 1W Nordic beams are much weaker so I've got the dish focused on that, the 5E Nordics are significantly stronger (except of course SES5 which I can't get at all!) so using the offset LNB, both satellites using Black Ultra LNBs.

AS, are you getting anything off SES-5?

Surprised that 4A is weak at your end - it's a relatively strong satellite in the UK

Cant look - I dont have a DVB-S2 receiver hooked up to that cable atm.

Ive got a 16 port diseqc switch on order - 5E will be the first extra lnb to be hooked up to the Duo.

It will have to be a weekend or xmas holiday job installing it tho - theres just too few hours of sunlight up here in the winter. Sunset is officially 15.55 this week - although the sun has dropped down behind the hills to the west long before that

Oh, no ..................... :-doh:-lol
