The six analogue television channels that are broadcasting from the Eutelsat Atlantic Bird 3 (AB3) satellite will terminate analogue transmissions on November 29. On that date, all terrestrial analogue broadcasts in the country will also be switched off.

Good to have a firm date Ross, most regions have already had the analogue terrestrial TV switched, off, I guess this is just the tidy up.
 
AFAIK the final region loses its analogue terrestrial on the same day. (Somewhere down the south east IIRC)
 
I'm still watching 5w in analogue and enjoying the French programming. My last two CRT TVs and my LCD all manage to produce colour pictures so for me at least the days of Secam in black and white are over. So if your TV is modernish, don't be put off revisiting French Analogue for a final time, that is if you still have an analogue receiver. Picture quality is astonishingly good, at least through my rose tinted specs!
 
And if your TV won't handle SECAM, a workaround is to insert a DVD Recorder in the SCART Loop. That's the way I started with 5W Analogue.
 
FWIW the very last French region still using analogue tv transmitters is Languedoc-Rousilion. These transmitters all close on November 29th 2011 and spell the end of analogue on 5W.

TF1 is showing a crawler - switch off has been delayed to 13th december. C+ is also still on air.
FR2 is showing a promo loop for Fransat. All others are gone.

The France 2 loop for Fransat is even in PAL ...obviously they had no SECAM encoder left :D
 
Yes, only the two channels left and encrypted C+

Funnily enough, my tiny £50 no-name LCD TV has a SECAM decoder :confused: So, watching the last of it in colour :)

Canal+ still on, and France 2 still showing the info loop.

I'll do this weekend, and will try to decode it using Nagra plugin for VirtualDub.
