Hi Guys,

Hey anyone had luck receiving 66.0E ( Landmass Beam), in the UK. If so what is your setup ie. Dish size, LNB......

I have been approached by a client asking if this was possible. I have said a 3meter dish would be needed, but i would like to know reception reports first to clarify if a 3m dish is needed.

To be honest ..I doubt 3mtrs would be big enough ..
less than 32.5 dbw over the UK ..and that's a guestimation..
Plus other factors like low elevation ..and the fading effect ..
I doubt it's doable at all in the UK..
Certainly not on a solid reliable basis.


maybe if your client lives on the top floor of a tower block and has permission for a dish in excess of 3m to be mounted on top ..

Right ok, i know it is going to be tricky. I'm not a satellite installer so i needed to ask this forum before i could ask a satellite installer on what the prices could be. Ideally i would need someone to test, but i'm unsure on this forum if anyone has a big enough dish and is in northern Europe.

Ha ha, I wish i had the space to put a 3m dish up !

IT is not for me it is for a client at a company i work for and just doing some digging before i ask an installer for further assistance on the matter.

What does the client require on this satellite?
 
Only 7 channels. There not avaliable on any other satellites. We are working on IP solution as this is what I specialise in. So may end up going full IP. But would like to see any reception reports.

Hi, I dont know if this will help you,but-Im in Zilina,Slovakia and receive 66E with CNR 8-11dB. Kathrein 220,LNB ESX 242.

Ever heard of hanging a dish upside down ?
 
OK, landmass , we mean freq. 3845-4024(flysat).
Here is a picture of my setting, you can see transponders scanned(with" +"sign). I scan only FTA channels ,so some TPs are not scanned,but I have signal on them.
