which receiver do you recommend to do this?

Sorry, I've been scanning here for years without a receiver, using only PC cards. I'm sure other users here can help you with that.

Any receiver can work with Ka-band LNB even if its frequencies are not available through menu settings. Just use Ku-band, but then you must calculate what Ku-frequency correspond to actual Ka-frequency or vice versa.

All receivers "eat" IF e. g. 950 - 2150 MHz and almost all LNB's output goes to that range. Rest is pure math inside receiver according to LNB oscillator frequency.
Maybe someone still remember, that some old analog sat-receivers showed IF-frequency, not transponder frequency.

With any E2 receiver appropriate Ka band LNB can be set/created (depending on image). Some images do blind scan as well, some don't, but manual scan is always possible.

I don't think this has been asked previously, apologies if so, but which segment of the Ka band had you got in mind to receive and what Ka lnb / feed to use

The feed is still available today.

This reply was meant for @rodscha but i didn't make it clear enough

Hi,
Anything here for the World Cup?

Ka reception signal strengths from 16° / 7° / 4.8° East for me on my 2.2m PF, Norsat Ka lnb, here 17k North of Nottingham UK have dropped really really low to almost non existence over the last six months - the only TP that has increased in strength is fx 21.569H EQUINOXE Tv from 16°E Ka.
