Playing with a Prodelin Ku feed + adapter on 1.2m offset, todays scan. The narrow cluster don't all show on blind scan but are OK once locked.

Thats actually pretty good going for the 7°East scan Graham, your in a favourable location down there as you are within the strongest part of the footprint, i'm lucky to catch 3 up here. The weather has now changed to cold rain so the Gilat test is looking a bit of a no-go at the minute.

I can see the TP, but it's only 4.2dB, so no lock. My Triax is certain to be a victim of the gales, and will be off the sat.

I'll rectify it tomorrow, but probably too late for the feed. We'll see.

Also what you could do - - You could put the Inverto Ka/Ku on the 1.2 CM, run an extra coax up to the dish, and you will have full Ku band and full Ka band D at your desposal. The Ku performance of the Inverto is pretty good to say the Inverto is a compromise lnbf but with some attention to detail as to setting the lnbf up on the dish you will be sound. I have a 1.2 CM as well doing exactly this.

Thanks John. Was thinking of doing exactly what you suggest.
Do you think the combined LNB Ku is not quite as good then as the single Inverto LNB?

Well, briefly imho, any lnb/lnbf - 'C' , Ku, Ka etc you use on a motorised dish that scans a good portion of the arc ends up as a bit of a compromise re: performance. A 'one fixed' lnb position at the front of the dish is not a 'fits all' situation to cover the arc. Tweeking an lnb/skew/focal point/choice of lnb+scalar feed used to optomise illumination etc on a fixed satellite position and on a fixed frequency gives you the opportunity to fine tune for max performance - SO using the Inverto Ka/Ku over various arc positions is not perfect but imo pretty darn good for what they cost.
