70.5E in the UK?

Just having an idle thought while watching 68.5E as that troublesome bush moves about. The map suggests 70.5E widebeam should be about 43dBW over Southern England and 11210H carries a Canadian Forces MUX so can anyone see it? I'll see what chance I have later tonight and strap the laser pointer onto my inclinometer but for now there's not even a bump in the noise floor.

Normally borderline and unlockable ...but tonight is booming in ...relatively speaking ..
Also getting a good strength for longer periods from Aktau (66 East) ...2db stronger than I've had it before ..(at its stable peak)..

To save you some time looking for Silemani you won't find it VS, it's been off air for a couple of days. Try for Asia TV promo (see my other thread) it's a similar strength to Silemani but has a higher SR so should be easier.

Asia TV promo was the _only_ channel I ever logged on NSS12 ...
Had that for some time ..
Thanks for the Silemani info tho'
..I'd just set off EBS to do a full scan ...but won't expect that one to show up now

That's interesting, I've not come across it before so assumed it was new. I do get some strange results on 57E I think due mainly to the low SRs used on some of the transponders. I notice one of the regular feeds on 11139 was up when I came downstairs about an hour ago.

I concur with your findings Paul ..
NSS12 is an enigma to me too ..
Which is why I'm making such a fuss over tonights findings ..
Some nights Asia TV promo was booming in ...other nights it floated up and down ..gain wise ...much like Aktau ..
Some nights its as though it had fallen out of the skies ..
Absolutely nothing ..
I've always had probs the further East I go ..
I put it down to weather anomalies ...elevation ...travelling at low elevation over a major city ...(Manchester)...and fringe reception .. and the pennines as a possible obstruction in poor weather conditions..

when i had a small fixed dish (90x 80 cm) on 68.5 a year or so ago -- the signal always drifted in and out even in good weather .
a fellow sat enthusiast 25 miles west of me in morecambe found the same on his 1.2 c.m. dish
