7020s Remote

New 7020 and trying to program remote for use on Sony TV as well.
Read the instruction and do the following steps
1) Press the "TV" button
Pressed and the light flashes
2) Press the "Shift" button for 2 or more seconds and the "TV" light should flas twice
Pressed and the light flashes once - NADA Progress.:-Nooo
Any ideas clues hints?

Found the problem
Box and remote not original. In the copy they did not use the IC that has the TV remote as it is much more expensive. Otherwise all the same
