Does anyone know what time tomorrow this satellite will start up? I have my dish on 7w ready to test the signal in the UK, if there is one of cause. I just need to know a time. I can't wait to test it.

It has started.

11316 V 27500 - No signal here in the UK.

I cannot see anything from that transponders here in east anglie. City 7 TV comes in loud and clear.
dddd

7.2 west Atlantic 4A 10.7GHz to 10.95GHz nothing here in the UK,
8 west Atlantic 2 10.95 to 11.2GHz CNN & France 24 other fta,
7.2 west Atlantic 4A 11.2GHz to 11.45GHz {New activity soon}
8 west Telecom 2D 11.45GHz to 11.7GHz feeds
7 west Nilesat 101/102 11.7GHz to 12.4GHz Vertical transponders in UK,
????? 12.4GHz to 12.5GHz not used {possible expansion for Atlantic 4A}
8 west Atlantic 2 12.5GHz to 12.75GHz feeds & fta tv.

The satellite is a 7.2w so if you get a large dish you will need to nug it a bit to the west of nilesat.

I do not think any think any thing good will come to this satellite it is just a replacment for atlantic bird 4 most channels on the satellite are arabic.

Just had a look on the eutelsat site and theyhave added atlantic bird 4a to the site but i can not see any footprint

_http://www.eutelsat.com/satellites/7wab4a.html

The footprint looks like it has a greater penetration to the North than the satellite it is replacing, just imagine the footprint aimed at North Africa & it does look likely that reception a bit further North may be possible,
Atlantic 4 footprint is the top one,Hotbird 8,9 & 10 for Central Europe is the bottom one {Atlantic Bird 4A} just a matter of moving the coverage map from Central Europe to Southern Europe/North Africa,
Well it gives you an idea until they issue an official coverage map.

That is not a very useful post for members as nobody knows where in the UK you are, please update your profile

Update.

AB4A at 7w will go live tonight at 00:00, Arabic channels are announcing tomorrow which TP will change. Hadi tv announced it will be active from 00:00 GMT.

I'm sorry for the confusing but it sounds like there is still hope yet.

The 11316 V TP is not active so i'm told so ignore kingofsat for the moment.

Thanks to vtm22 here's the official footprint of AB4A:
_http://www.MegaShare.com/763159

The first reports from Greece show that there is no problem to get this satellite:
In Arta (39.16N/20.99E) a 85cm Hirschmann gets all frequencies without any problems.

In Northern Italy things don't look good as you can read at least here:
_http://www.digital-forum.it/showthread.php?p=1080935

In Germany also AB4A is very weak. 1.50m are by far too small in Southern Bavaria as you can read in Kleinraisting's post at _http://forum.dxtv.de/wbb/thread.php?postid=130075

In Poland a 1.80m achieves partial reception as one can see (screenshots included) here: _http://www.satclub.pl/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=667

Reports from Spain might appear at _http://nowsat.mforos.com/26359/8458395-atlantic-bird-4a-en-7-2-w/

So,which frequency should I look for as a reference tonight ?
11.316 V ?

In Cyprus 60cm might suffice Zorba. Concerning Harti's screenshot report at _http://www.satclub.pl/viewtopic.php?f=89&t=667 11316V was active this afternoon.

Bit of a disappointing switch-over to this new sat for me, used to be able to get 4 transponders from the old Atlantic Bird 4 but nothing from the new 4A

Hi all
I have to report that i have lost all the transponders from the switch over.
I used to get about 5 Transponders from the old AB4 but not a thing from the new ab4a.
on Transponder 12341v i had 24/7 reception (with no rain) but nothing now.

1.3M dish , sharp Lnb and ct165 cable.
West London

I was never able to get 12341V at all but had 24/7 reception on 10719V, 10796V, 10834V 10873V and occasionally 10911V, but nothing at all now!

Used to receive all AB4 channels on a old 1.5m prime focus dish but now they have swiched to ab4a i can not receive any transponders on ab4a so i have lost espn america and espn middle east)(-red from what i have been told i now need a 2.5m dish)(-red:-DOH2

Just been comparing the old & new footprints, the new one is much further away from the UK. The edge of the old one crossed mid-france & germany, but the new one crosses mid-italy & greece, so a much bigger dish is now required. Disappointing!

I can receive all TPs from this new satellite in west Serbia with a 90cm Triax dish and MTI 0.6db LNB. A read some reports from people in Croatia who cannot receive it even with bigger dishes. (Croatia neighbors Serbia)
It seems that signals drops rapidly from Serbia. Here are some pics:

Great report kalehrl :)

Where in Serbia are you located ?
Looking at the footprint it seems more important how far North you are located than West.

Ok have just seen your report at _http://www.novisf.com/wbb3/index.php?page=Thread&postID=747410#post747410
You're located in Priboj. Officially 42dbW reach your area. Seems a bit too pessimistic.

By the way, don't you receive the other AB4A frequencies ?:
10911V/10930H/11317V/12341V/12360H/12399H/12476H

I receive all AB4A frequencies including those you mentioned.
The weakest ones are 12418V and 12476H where there's little BER but signal is locked nevertheless. I'm actually in the south-western part of Serbia.
