9 degree offset bracket

I frequently read of people using a bracket to position a second LNB at 9 degrees offset from the Sky 19.2 degree position so that they can receive Freesat via the Astra satellite but am having a heck of a job finding one.

Can anyone point me towards a supplier, preferably in the UK ?

I have an old Sky single feed LNB - can I use that to receive Freesat or do I need a different one? I know I need a separate Freesat receiver.
 
Hi, assuming it's a universal LNb (9750/10600) it'll be fine.

A standard universal offset bracket should give you a 9° look angle. Have you tried the site sponsors.

Sky and Freesat both broadcast from 28E, so you don't actually need an offset bracket.;)
 
Just replace your existing Sky LNB with one with more outputs (Quad = 4 will probably do the job) and run a cable (or two, if you get a PVR) to a Freesat Box.

Not only, as said, the same Satellites, but much of the free content (but not quite all) is the self-same Channels, just with a different EPG).

19.2 E (The Astra 1 cluster) is totally irrelevant: Now carries chiefly German Channels plus a smattering of other non-UK stuff.
 
Unless, in addition the O/P has an old dish positioned to Astra1 of course.

But there is a slight degree of ambiguity here - no doubt it'll be overcome shortly :)

My own interpretation is that the OP recalls Sky originally being from 19.2E but may have forgotten (or not realised) it now comes from Astra 2/Eurobird at 28.2/28.5E. Same as Freesat ............ :D

No 19.2E Dish, I'll wager!

Thanks for the comments, folks. Very interesting.

Very pleased to learn I don't need an offset bracket. I'll be buying a quad feed LNB to replace the Sky LNB, as suggested.

We have Sky+ at the moment (cables fed to the lounge) but I wanted to be able to feed Freesat through to two of the upstairs bedrooms.

Well I went up a ladder and checked what LNB I have already and, lo! and behold, it's already a quad-output LNB so I don't even need to buy a new one.

I've plenty of the right coax and satellite connectors so I just need to buy freesat decoder.

Super stuff :)

Don't forget to form drip loops in the cable near the LNB entry and any entry points into your property.
