A good friend of mine was walking down the road when a van pulled up and offered him a brand new bed for £250. The bed was surplus stock and worth over £1000 indeed the mattress had £800 sticker on it.

No questions asked and a sale was made. My mate is very pleased with the quality etc and thinks he has had a bargain but I think that these people do this for a living and pick up these beds on the cheap and then drive around looking for mugs!

If it sounds too good to be true then it usually is.

Could easily be stolen stock :D

So he was walking down the street ? What, did they take the money and drop off the bed there and then ? How did he get it home ?

Labels are easy to print, the M25 motorway services used to always have traders there selling "surplus" items, ranging from designer watches to clothes and handbags. Most hooky gear comes with hooky printed labels as well.:)

I'd be very surprised if it wasn't hookey.

Some years ago I was delivering Yellow Pages on an estate in Leeds and was offered a choice of "Luxury Carpets" out of the back of an unmarked van.

Dodgy goods, dodgy characters.

No doubt.
