The latest 6933 has a screen and a much better signal meter, this Freesat V8 would be superb if they could fix these little issues but I somehow doubt it, the 6906 and 6933 are cheaper too :(
 
Maybe the firmware makers of the free sat finder could be emailed to request the applicable software features?

I've just been on their forum, there have been a lot of requests for things but falls on deaf ears it seems.
Bit of a shame really as the hardware is quite good.
 
I've found a "Bodge" for the sound if anyone wants to use it as a Sat receiver for camping etc.
Plug something in to the "AV Out" port, such as the supplied AV lead or a 3.5mm plug.
It mutes the internal speaker.

An LCD display screen yes, but not a display where you can view channels, unless things have changed in the latest version. The ability to view channels comes in useful when you're up a ladder...

Oh you know what Sonnetpete, I assumed you could watch channels on it, but you are right I see no examples of that looking at them now.
Why did they put DVB-S2 on it lol!
 
If everything contained in a £50 box of tricks can be perfected with some firmware tweaking, then post your grievances on their forum.

You might find a fornight down the line you get a reasonable product

I know you can pay over the odds for something because it is hyped up or well publicised, but in general you get what you pay for.
