I wonder if the move to encryption will mean that we will get the English commenatry on F1 Motor Racing?

At present both the audio options English and Arabic carry the Arabic commentary.

They're the different channels that have been there for years. The HD ones are new and have just bee launched.

Carrefoure in Abu Dhabi, the package cost me Dh999, the pricing is on their website now I believe. Paid an extra Dh95 for a 3 year warranty. When I called them up, they didn't ask where I'm from. They asked for the box and card IDs, and my name. Don't think that should be a problem since theres an international number to call them too.

Card didn't work on my fortec star innovation. Tried and tried to no avail.

And, did you try your activated card in Fortec HD? How does it respond?

Yes I asked. I actually asked them why there isn't one since there actually was one and they removed the option off their website. He replied saying its to ensure protection against piracy bla bla. Didn't really buy it but oh well.

Currently the receiver/card deal is live here. Cards without receiver will be available from September. Right now every bar owner who had Orbit/Showtime is chasing this so don't expect it to be cheap.

Really? Source? Also, how would that work since they're trying to convince people that'll never happen because they're "fighting piracy"? If they do start selling cards only then would that mean the people who bought the package will be able to use their cards on other recievers?

Is it true that you can buy an online sub for 270 AED? I.e. £40 for all 380 games to watch online ...

Has anyone succeeded in this? And what are the implications for people in the UK, will they be able to watch them online?

I have friends in the Emirates whose address I can use if I need to sub.

Seems too good to be true if i'm honest....

Thanks Huevos, I beleive I can buy the box/card, for over €400. I was told the price but can't remember how much it was over 400. I will need to wait until September or October as my friend told me it might be October when the cards are available. It seems like poor planning from AD Sports. If you get a cheaper price on the box+card, would you be good enough to post the price?

Maybe it's something to do with the monopoly's the UAE government holds on Etisalat etc. I don't know if thats related. It is dirt cheap though probably as any dearer would price out UAE 'local' citizens, not the expat community.

I'm still waiting for confirmation on the online sub. Would it require a socks proxy to view online or what? It isn't clear from the website only and asterisk next to a vague comment about region.

It's a premium but your going to be getting every Prem game going so it's a win win really. My current property (rented) doesn't allow me to erect a dish unfortunately, hoping this online option comes to fruition....

That price Pipino has mentioned is the price United Arab Emirate Dirhams if you were in a shop in the Middle East buying it, converted into Euros at the current exchange rate. If you want to buy it here you are going to have to pay for infrastructure, shipping from the Middle East, customs charges, etc, profit and VAT. The current package beinging offered here is really aimed at bar owners who wouldn't blink at paying 600€ (12€ per week) to have every live match available to them.

yes i heard that,,i even heard they may give an option to upgrade for showtime customers thru nilsat,,,but its speculation as far as i know ... all this been made and lunched last minute,, remember how aljazeera sport messed thing around last year ...it was a real nightmare...so organisation and planning looks real crap for this one too..lets wait and see

DVB-S/MPEG-2 27500 3/4 its SD services and using the exact same beam as the HD..i can see you have a very good range of dishes right there ..report appreciated m8
