adding usb ports onto a tm500?

just opened up the box to have a nosey and noticed the board is the 600 but with a few chips, resistors and usb ports not on the board, just wondering if anyone had tried to wire in the usb's and if so what else is needed (as the firmware obviously knows its a 500 and therefore cant record?)

Quickest way to do this would be to sell the TM500 on ebay and buy a TM600 for a few bob more??
