The hard drive has failed on my little feeder netbook today so my tracking is currently grounded :(

Hard Drive?

Aren't you using SSDs yet?

Replacement SSD on order..... In the meantime I must have a spare 80gig 2.5" drive in a draw somewhere to get me back on air.

A somewhat fraught laptop rebuild over the last few days but Its now about 95% complete, and Im tracking aircraft again. :)

Havent got the 360radar mlat client set up again yet - that can wait till tomorrow.

Just watched an Easyjet on a flight Edinburgh - Hamburg do a fast descent & divert to Newcastle. First time Ive ever seen the aircraft details on VRS turn pink then red!

BBC News report about the diverted Easyjet (G-EZWX for the record)

Final interconnects have arrived so Ive connected my uputronics amp up & its making quite a difference already :-)

40 miles added to my splat range in one direction - and its only been running a couple of hours :)

Nothing else changed, and the antenna is still wonky as I havent got round to fixing it yet - its been too ruddy cold!.

Something a bit more interesting than the usual array of Flybe's, Ryan Air's Easyjet's & KLM's - TWO Ethiopian Airs visible at once :D

The cheapie one I started with, although a proper TXCO square one is in the post from Amazon.

NooElec square txco dongle arrived, so rapidly swapped over & we will see what happens now. Plus Ive now got a spare dongle to see what new things I can get with it :D
